Since 2005, High Mark Homes has been building superior quality houses in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Co-founders and brothers, Carston and Tyler Siebert, were born on a farm just outside Grande Prairie (LaGlace), and are proud to have the opportunity to offer people the premium craftsmanship and home designs they’re looking for. Being local, High Mark Homes has earned a reputation for building market ready and custom homes that are as solid as they are beautiful, functional and comfortable. We encourage our employees to enroll in the apprenticeship program. We strive to maintain high standards of craftsmanship that people have come to expect; from us as leaders in the home construction industry. Carston Siebert
Owner / CEO

 

How long have you worked at High Mark Homes?
High Mark Homes has been in business for 16 years now, and I have been here from the start. 2005 was the year we built our very first house. Since then, we have built many more houses in the Grande Prairie and surrounding areas. Whether they are custom homes, spec houses, or dream homes for the Rotary Dream Home Lottery. High Mark Homes has now built over 200 Homes!

What do you like most about working at High Mark Homes?
They say if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life! For me, I have always had a passion for building homes for clients and am very fortunate to have been fulfilling my dreams in this career. I also enjoy working with our subcontractors and our staff! We are a tight-knit group which makes High Mark Homes so unique.

What is your favourite memory of working at High Mark Homes?
Because our crew gets along so well, we are constantly making memories but my fondest ones come from the early years! This is back when I was still swinging a hammer. I made some great friends with past and present employees.

Where are you from?
I was raised in the Peace Country. My younger years were spent on our family farm in LaGlace, Alberta. After graduating, I stayed close to my roots moving to Sexsmith, Alberta, then into the County of Grande Prairie, and finally my wife and I built our dream home on an acreage east of Grande Prairie.

What do you do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not at work my family and I can usually be found spending our time outside. We are very family focused and enjoy riverboating, snowboarding, dirt biking etc. Pretty much anything outside!

What is a Fun Fact about you?
Before married life, I travelled the world. Backpacking through various countries and making memories while doing so!

Do you have any Post-Secondary schooling?
Prior to honing in on a career, I took one year of General Studies at the Peace River Bible Institute. From there, I attended Grande Prairie Regional College at the Fairview Campus where I completed my Journeyman Carpentry along with earning a Red Seal. I am also certified in Wastewater Management and Building on Alberta soils. Along with all of my schooling, growing up on a farm gave me a lot of life skills that I use every day.

Sharon Siebert

How long have you worked at High Mark Homes?
I’ve been involved with High Mark Homes for the past several years on and off. During this time, Carston and I have grown our family and now that our kids are getting older and heading off to school, my involvement with High Mark Homes has increased once again.

What do you like most about working at High Mark Homes?
I spend my time collaborating new trends and design with our current house plans. The design aspect of High Mark Homes has given me the flexibility to work from home, raise our 4 children, and still allow me to be creative with our projects.

What is your favourite memory of working at High Mark Homes?
Christmas is my favourite time of year, I can always look forward to a High Mark Homes Christmas Party to create memories I’ll never forget.

Where are you from?
I am originally from Newfoundland but moved west with my family in 1994. After moving here, we eventually settled in Clairmont, Alberta. In 2016 Carston and I built our family home on an acreage east of town.

What do you do when you aren’t working?
In my spare time I enjoy cross-country skiing at The Wapiti Nordic Trails, Pilates at The Pilates Barre GP, snowboarding, riverboating, and hanging out with my family.

What is a Fun Fact about you?
I volunteer at The Pregnancy Care Center.

Tyler Siebert
Owner / CFO

 

How long have you worked at High Mark Homes?
High Mark Homes became incorporated back in 2007 and I have been Part-Owner ever since.

What do you like most about working at High Mark Homes?
Although I am not a part of High Mark Homes everyday tasks, I’m still able to interact with sub-contractors in the industry. My role involves a lot of behind-the-scenes work where I can express my personal input into the ever-changing house plans and styles to accommodate the market.

What is your favourite memory of working at High Mark Homes?
One of my greatest memories with High Mark Homes, was the day we spent clearing snow for past and future customers after a record-breaking snowfall!

Where are you from?
I grew up just outside of Grande Prairie on our family farm in LaGlace, Alberta. Now my wife, 2 daughters and I live on that same farm!

What do you do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not at my everyday job or assisting at High Mark
Homes you can find me spending time with my family and friends in the outdoors! We enjoy camping, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, and skiing just to name a few things.

What is a Fun Fact about you?
I have worked in the Oil & Gas Industry for 25 years. I’ve also had my ABSA 1st Class Steam Ticket for over 10 years now.

Do you have any Post-Secondary schooling?
I attended Grande Prairie Regional College where I completed my Power Engineering ABSA 1ST Class Steam Ticket. As Carston’s brother and business partner I enjoy being involved in important decisions applicable to all aspects of High Mark Homes.

Lana

Lana Siebert
Bookkeeper

 

How long have you worked at High Mark Homes?
I have been involved with High Mark Homes since the incorporation back in 2007.

What do you like most about working at High Mark Homes?
My job, as Bookkeeper, has it’s learning curves. I am constantly learning the homebuilding industry and financial aspects with lawyers, accountants, realtors and banks in the business. Also, the fact that I have the luxury to do that from my home office!

What is your favourite memory of working at High Mark Homes?
One of my fondest memories was the private party we hosted at the Rotary Dream Home Lottery in 2013 for family and friends.

Where are you from?
I grew up in the Sexsmith area (although Carston would say Teepee Creek). Now Tyler, our girls, and I reside in LaGlace, Alberta.

What do you do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not working, I am spending time with friends and my family doing one of many activities! Skiing, Shuswap vacations, river boating, hunting camp, to name a few.

What is a Fun Fact about you?
A fun fact about me, I have a huge fear of moose… and mice!

Do you have any Post-Secondary schooling?
In 2001 I attended Grande Prairie Regional College where I received a diploma in Business Administration and Bookkeeping. I have boots on the ground experience with bookkeeping/basic accounting for about 18 years.

Mark

Mark Siebert
Service & Warranty Manager

 

How long have you worked at High Mark Homes?
I joined the High Mark Homes team back in December 2016 as an apprentice in carpentry. Then in September of 2018 was promoted to Service and Warranty Manager.

What do you like most about working at High Mark Homes?
With each sale I am able to interact and hear stories from our valued clients, contractors, and the High Mark Homes crew.

What is your favourite memory of working at High Mark Homes?
The atmosphere is always upbeat and entertaining. We engage in many team-bonding activities. One that sticks out for me was a farewell of a past employee to Ironsights Airsoft in Grande Prairie.

Where are you from?
I grew up near LaGlace, Alberta and lived across the creek from Carston’s family. Currently my wife, family, and I reside in Sexsmith, Alberta.

What do you do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time at home with my wife, Faith, and our children and occasionally play guitar.

What is a Fun Fact about you?
I am passionate about music, meaning and you’ll often find me singing my heart out at work. One day I’d love to explore more of the world and fill every page of my passport. I also care deeply about people and have a multiracial adopted family.

Do you have any Post-Secondary schooling?
I have over 10 years of experience in the industry and will be completing my Red Seal in carpentry this coming year. I was also a pastor to youth for many years and earned a BEd and MA.

Danny

Danny Hildebrand
Site Supervisor

 

How long have you worked at High Mark Homes?
I became an employee of High Mark Homes just over a decade ago. Due to my dedication and work ethic, in this industry, I earned the position of Site Supervisor. This job entails safety coordination and delegating projects to our employees to help ensure the construction timeline stays on schedule.

What do you like most about working at High Mark Homes?
The comradery between employees and trades creates a unique and positive atmosphere that I look forward to being a part of each day.

What is your favourite memory of working at High Mark Homes?
A few things stored in my memory bank from over the years include the “brownie” in Dan’s tool pouch and putting Corey’s hammer in a freshly poured foundation footing.

Where are you from?
I was raised in what I consider “The Jewel of the Peace” or more commonly known as Bezanson, Alberta. My wife and I now live in Grande Prairie in the Whispering Ridge subdivision with future plans to move near the town of Wembley.

What do you do when you aren’t working?
Weekend Danny can be found spending time with his lovely wife, skiing, playing board games, and sampling many quality beers from Grain Bin Brewing Co.

What is a Fun Fact about you?
One of my greatest life accomplishments is winning the Horseshoe Tournament at Landisfest in 2018.

Do you have any Post-Secondary schooling?
I have been a journeyman carpenter for 7 years, but my greatest attributes I bring to High Mark Homes is my sense of humor and my talent for many accents!

Henry

Henry Vandervoort
Project Manager

 

How long have you worked at High Mark Homes?
I became involved at High Mark Homes in August 2016 where I started installing cabinets. Then fortunately for me, the position of Project Manager, at High Mark Homes, became available in August 2018.

What do you like most about working at High Mark Homes?
I like being in the home building industry because we are able to bring a house to completion and turn over a new home to a family.

What is your favourite memory of working at High Mark Homes?
What sets High Mark Homes apart is our connection with our employees. We enjoy our version of Black Jack every morning in the shop before work.

Where are you from?
Although I wasn’t born in Grande Prairie, my family and I moved to the Peace Country back in 1967. Ever since then I have planted roots and went on to raise a family of my own, here in the Swan City.

What do you do when you aren’t working?
Out of the office, I enjoy playing poker, games and dabbling in woodworking projects.

What is a Fun Fact about you?
I am known as the trickster of the office.

What do you bring to the table at High Mark Homes?
Over the years, in the construction business I have learned different aspects of home building and acquired an attention for detail and finishing in various projects.
